Frequently asked
The questions founders ask us first.
Straight answers on how we price, who owns the code, how a build runs, and how we handle security and compliance. Something not here? Just ask us.
Working together
What kind of clients do you work with?
Mostly funded startups and established teams building a serious product — an MVP, a SaaS platform, a mobile app, or a regulated build in healthcare or fintech. If you have a validated idea and want it built properly, you're the right fit.
How do we start?
A short intro call to understand what you're building. For larger builds we recommend a fixed-price Scoping Sprint that ends in a clickable prototype, a technical plan and a firm quote — fully credited if we go on to build together.
Do you work with clients in other time zones?
Yes — all our clients are remote. We work comfortably with teams in Australia, the UK, Europe and North America, scheduling live sessions in your working hours and keeping everything documented asynchronously in between.
Pricing & contracts
How do you price a project?
We scope tightly up front and give you a fixed price for a defined version one, rather than an open-ended hourly rate. If scope changes mid-build, we tell you the cost of the change before we build it — no surprise invoices.
Can you give me a ballpark before we talk?
Yes — our cost guides walk through real ranges and the factors that move them for MVPs, SaaS, mobile, healthcare, fintech and e-commerce builds. They're the same numbers we'd quote from. Browse them under Guides.
Do you sign an NDA?
Yes, on request, before we get into the details of your idea. It's a standard part of how we start.
Ownership & IP
Who owns the code and the IP?
You do — completely. All source code, infrastructure and intellectual property transfer to you on delivery. There's no proprietary framework you're locked into and nothing you have to license back from us.
What if we want to take the project in-house later?
Then we hand it over cleanly — repositories, infrastructure, documentation and a walkthrough for your team. We build so that any competent engineer can pick it up, because a clean exit is part of doing the job well.
Delivery & timelines
How long will my project take?
An MVP typically takes a few months; larger platforms run longer. The Scoping Sprint gives you a firm timeline rather than a guess. Whatever the length, you see working software in a shared environment every two weeks.
How will we communicate during the build?
You get a direct line to the people building your product — not an account manager relaying messages. Expect a shared environment, a short demo every two weeks, and async updates in between.
What happens after launch?
We stay on for support and the next round of features, or hand off to your in-house team — your call. Read more about our process on the How we work page.
Security & compliance
How do you handle security?
Security is built into how we work: code review on every change, dependency scanning, environment isolation and least-privilege access as standard. Our full approach is on the Security page.
Can you build HIPAA- or GDPR-regulated software?
Yes. We've built systems under HIPAA and will sign a Business Associate Agreement, and we follow GDPR data-handling practices and provide a signed Data Processing Agreement where EU data is involved. See the Compliance page for detail.
First time hiring a dev team?
Our fixed-price Scoping Sprint lets you see how we work before you commit — and you keep everything we produce.
